BIOGRAPHY
Celine Rae (Born March 20th, 1996) is a Dutch singer-songwriter and YouTube artist. Rae's music takes you on a voyage of discovery throughout her personal life. Emotions get translated into music in a musical style that varies from Paramore to the Common Linnets.
Since she was a little girl, Celine always had a big passion for music. At a young age she sang in church-choirs, singing groups and was always one of the lead singers in every musical school play. When she entered high-school, Celine got very serious about her passion. She didn’t only want to sing, she also wanted to play instruments. So she took guitar lessons, and taught herself to play the piano and drums. She formed her first band in high-school and entered the competition 'Orion Music Awards'. The band won the band competition with the first price 'Original song'. After high-school Celine got accepted at 'Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten', a conservatory where she's currently studying to become a musician, performer and music teacher.
Rae wrote her first songs at the age of eleven, inspired by her vision of a perfect environment. An environment where there wouldn't be any social standards and where subjects like 'bullying' and 'depression' wouldn't have a stigma attached to it. Because of personal experiences in this area, Rae's music becomes autobiographic, yet styled in a pop-rock fashion.

It began with making live covers at home, but soon it got more professional when they met producer Mike Attinger of MainGrounds Studio. Together they’ve made covers that have been viewed over 30.000 times on YouTube.
On October 22, 2015, Celine Rae released her debut single "He Said”, which she released independently through online distribution. Since the release the singer has performed at venues like Radio Veronica, Radio 1, De Pul and many more. Because of her energetic sound with catchy riffs and captivating lyrics, she managed to convince many people. The single got noticed by Dutch phenomenal singer-songwriter Frank Boeijen. Who said: "He Said is a catchy song. It's stuck in my head all day".
In 2016 Rae released two singles, ‘Done Fighting For This’ (often abbreviated as DFFT) and a Christmas single ‘Christmas Without Snow’. Both are available on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube and Google Play. Because of those releases and the gigs that followed, Celine and her band were the support act of "The world's best cover band Coldplace: a Coldplay tribute band." Apart from the bigger shows, Celine has done many acoustic performances, one of those performances was being the opening up program for Dutch singer-songwriter (and ex-member of Di-Rect) 'Tim Akkerman' in 'De Pul'.
In 2019 Celine released her new single 'Your Ways'. Your Ways is the lead single of the highly anticipated debut EP "DENIAL". "Your Ways is an anthem for everybody who has ever been bullied, or been told that they can't do something. "We wanted to embody that feeling of loneliness, anger and lost hope. But most of all create recognition amongst all people who struggled with this situation and let them know that we stand with you." DENIAL will be one of the five to be released EP's to find acceptance.
