Dutch artist CELINE RAE turns heartbreak, emotions and her personal experiences into danceable pop-tracks. Rae calls her music stigma-free, as she always tries to inspire her fans to be themselves unapologetically no matter what they’re going through. Her lyrics are honest and raw, and even though her genre is associated with party vibes, there is a message and meaning behind every song Celine Rae sings and writes.
"Let's dance through heartbreak together" - Celine Rae
Rae wrote her first songs at the age of eleven, inspired by her vision of a perfect environment. An environment where there wouldn't be any social standards and where subjects like 'bullying' and 'depression' wouldn't have a stigma attached to it. Because of personal experiences in this area, Rae's music becomes autobiographic, styled in a danceable edgy pop fashion.
In 2014, Celine started recording YouTube covers on her channel. She did this together with former-bandmember MacNaus. It began with making live covers at home, but soon it got more professional when they met producer Mike Attinger of MainGrounds Studio. Together they’ve made covers that have been viewed over 30.000 times on YouTube.
On October 22, 2015, Celine Rae released her debut single "He Said”, which she released independently through online distribution. Since the release the singer has performed at venues like Radio Veronica, Radio 1, De Pul and many more. Because of her energetic sound with catchy riffs and captivating lyrics, she managed to convince many people. The single got noticed by Dutch phenomenal singer-songwriter Frank Boeijen. Who said: "He Said is a catchy song. It's stuck in my head all day".
Rae was featured on Extrano's Stay With Me for ADE 2016, this was Rae's first introduction to the EDM scene. In 2016 Rae also released two singles, ‘Done Fighting For This’ (often abbreviated as DFFT) and a Christmas single ‘Christmas Without Snow’. Both are available on digital streaming platforms. Because of those releases and the gigs that followed, Celine and her band were the support act of "The world's best cover band Coldplace: a Coldplay tribute band." Apart from the bigger shows, Celine has done many acoustic performances, one of those performances was being the opening up program for Dutch singer-songwriter (and ex-member of Di-Rect) 'Tim Akkerman' in 'De Pul'.
In 2018 she singles got followed-up by the "Acoustic Covers I" EP that features her acoustic covers from her YouTube channel. In 2019 Rae released anti-bullying anthem "Your Ways" from her (only psysical distribution) 'Denial EP' to raise awareness for mental health. She signed with her production team and manager George O Janssen in the same year.
After some soul searching, Celine decided she wanted to explore the pop/dance scene. On January 1st, 2020, the 'Finetuners' Dance single Wide Awake dropped which features Rae's lyrics and vocals. Celine is currently working on features and new original work with a line of great producers. We can't be more excited to see what's coming next.
